I currently manage funds over multiple accounts and clients, that due to timing differences all had different results in 2022.
My accounts: +10.3%
Client 1: +13.9%
Client 2: +7.8%
Not great, but not terrible given the S&P 500 lost -19%.
Slightly more impressive are the results since starting in early 2021 (one account in January, one in March, one in June).
My accounts: +33.3% vs. S&P 500 -0.1%.
Client 1: +38.7% vs. S&P 500 -10.7%.
Client 2: +43.8% vs. S&P 500 +2%.
Almost all my gains came from net-nets, with a little bit from Berkshire Hathaway. I dumped all my remaining Berkshire Hathaway at the end of 2022 because I felt they were “training wheels”. My own research is providing higher return opportunities and I’m committing to it 100%.
